Golden temple, a peaceful place. Visit early in the morning to avoid long waiting. Volunteers are friendly and help in all the ways possible. Liked the cleanliness criteria and overall maintenance of the temple.
Must visit place in North.
Guru Arjan Singh compiled the Guru Granth Sahib and installed it in the Harmandir Sahab in 1604 AD. Ber Baba was the first 'Granthi', (the reciter of the Holy Book).
Budha (बुड्ढा), was a title assigned to him by Guru Nanak ji.
It is said that as a small boy, he had some interaction with Guruji about God and Guruji, very impressed by his seriousness gave him this title.
Religious place for the Sikhs. The temple also has a museum which is a must visit. It contains all the details for the history related to sikhs. The place also gives in-depth information of the struggles and sufferings encountered by them. Prasada is available here 24x7 also free drinking water. The wait to enter the main sanctum is long. Sometimes it can even go upto 2hrs. There is a free stall to store the footwear. It can be found on the right side of the main entrance. This is a must visit place in Amritsar. Please comply with the dress code while entering the temple.
Religious Place for Sikhs, different vibe altogether very neat and clean as always, waiting time could range from 2 - 3 hrs on weekdays, at weekends waiting time might increase.
Free footwear stalls - where you can keep your footwear for free (no time limit).
Free Langar - Free food for everyone 24/7.
Free Dormitory - You can have a free stay in these dormitories for 2 - 3 days.
The place which welcomes all, no discrimination. Certainly you have to abide by a few rules of the worshipping place. It has elements of faith, service, wisdom, discipline, brotherhood, empathy, cooperation, trust, history, religion, sacrifice, sweet, freedom, music, courage, fitness, support, sermon...... You will not leave the place without having this awe. Recommend to come early to avoid the rush.
